Sweet white violet (Viola blanda) is an edible, native perennial. It can be found in moist woodlands.
The sweet white violet can be identified by its heart-shaped leaves and small, white flowers with purple veins on the lowest petal.

The sweet white violet differs from the also edible common blue violet (Viola sororia) by having smaller and more fragrant flowers.
Violet leaves and flowers are edible. They can be added to salads raw. Leaves can be cooked and used as a thickener and flowers can be candied.

Foraging should only occur from large colonies and less than 25% of leaves and flowers should be collected.
